Project Name: National Backbone Transmission Network Project for 5G-A Commercial Deployment and 6G Pre-construction in a Middle Eastern Country
Project Background: Covering 12 cities, more than 3,000 macro and micro base stations and over 50 edge computing nodes. It meets the standards of 10Gbps+ rate, millisecond-level latency and tens of millions-level connections, and reserves upgrade space for 6G terahertz and space-air-ground integrated network.
Core Challenges: 25G/50G eCPRI fronthaul transmission, long-distance 400G midhaul and backhaul transmission, working environment ranging from -40℃ to +85℃ outdoors, strong lightning and sandstorm interference, as well as IP67 protection requirement.
Dingliang Solutions
- Fronthaul: OS2 single-mode armored optical cables supporting repeater-free transmission over 20km and 25G/50G eCPRI application.
- Midhaul & Backhaul: 400G QSFP-DD/OSFP high-speed links with transmission distance over 40km, compatible with future 6G upgrade.
- Base station matching cables: Cat7 shielded twisted pairs combined with M12 industrial connectors, supporting PoE++ 60W power supply and reaching IP67 protection level.
- Adopted weather-resistant sheath together with lightning-proof and sand-proof design, remaining free from corrosion after 500 hours of salt spray test.
Implementation Results
- The whole network achieves 10Gbps+ rate with latency less than 0.9ms, fully satisfying 5G-A uRLLC and eMBB service demands.
- Base station synchronization accuracy is within 1μs with 99.99% handover success rate.
- It has been operating stably for 2 years without major faults and won the Quality Gold Award issued by the local communications authority.
